General Info and Time Frame

The project Visualizing (the Derra de Moroda) Dance Archives started in October 2008 and is currently planned for a period of three years. It is conducted by the dance department of Salzburg University with technical support from the department for computer sciences. Head of the project is Prof. Dr. Claudia Jeschke. The software development is lead by Dr. Henner Drewes. The project is funded by the FWF.

 

Project Structure

The technical implementation of the project is divided into several components. A number of existing libraries and external programs form a foundation for the current programming.

Key Features and Examples

PortdebrasWith the help of animated examples, some key features of the movement engine will be demonstrated. The proper application of dance related movement analysis to animation simplifies the creation of animation and improves the quality of the animated output. Furthermore, the gained flexibility and efficiency contribute to new analytical approaches.
