Edit, Paste Special

Purpose

Use this feature to select a specific format for other applications when pasting them into EW Notator.

EW Notator accepts unformatted and formatted text (rich text) copied to the clipboard by other applications.
If the external application can act as an OLE server, you may insert any type of information as an OLE object.

Steps

To select the format,

  1. Open the application and file you want to copy information from.
  2. Select the information you want to appear in the EW Notator document, then copy it to the Clipboard.
    For more information, see your server application documentation.
  3. Switch to EW Notator, then choose Paste Special from the Edit menu.
  4. To paste the information into your EW Notator document, select Paste, then choose a format from the list box.
    or
    To create an OLE link, select Paste Link, then choose a format from the list box.
  5. Choose OK.

For OLE objects, you can also choose from the following options:

Display As Icon:
Display the new OLE object in your document as an icon rather than as data, text, or graphics.

Change Icon:
Select a new icon or change the text of the current icon.
