Exchanging Information with Other Applications

When using EW Notator in combination with other applications, you have to decide in which application to create your main document.

For example: you are writing a longer text and you want to insert a short example of an EW score. In this case it is recommended that you create a document in your word processor application and insert a EW Notatr object of a score into your text document.

On the other hand if you need a short introduction to a EW score, write your score as usual with EW Notator. Then use the Insert Object or Paste Special commands to insert written text as an OLE object in your document. OLE objects are not limited to text. They can contain graphics, sound, a video clip or any other form of information.

Note: The current version of EW Notator functions as an OLE container and OLE server. Alternatively, you can export EW Notator scores by copying an image onto the clipboard or saving your document as a graphic file with the Save Selection command. Using this approach you will not be able edit this image once it is pasted into another application.
