Insert, Text, Text Box

Purpose

Use Text Box to insert text within a box into your document.

Text boxes, as opposed to Simple Text, may contain multiline text passages or text involving multiple fonts and font styles. You may place a text box within a cell or a cell box, or as a standalone free floating text box on your page.

Different text formatting options are available. You can select a text passage and may choose a different font or font style and paragraph options.

Steps

  1. To insert a text box into a cell or a cell box,
    click into the cell to set the input focus to the desired position.
    or
    To insert a free floating text box,
    click on the right page margin to remove the input focus from the staff.
  2. Choose Text from the Insert menu, then choose Text Box.
  3. Type your text.
  4. Format your text by selecting text passages and applying different formatting options.
  5. Use Format Box to size the text box. In addition you can set borders and margins using this command.
    or
    Drag the size handles to size the box.

    Note: If your box is a free floating box, you may also set the box's position and wrap properties.
